About the Rational Life

Welcome to The Rational Life — a place to pause, reflect, and better understand the world we share.

Understanding ourselves is one of the most challenging—and rewarding—things we can do. Yet much of what psychology, philosophy, and the social sciences teach us remains locked away in academic journals or presented in ways that feel disconnected from everyday life.

The Rational Life was created to bridge that gap.

This publication explores the ideas that shape how we think, feel, work, and live. Through evidence-based articles, it examines topics across psychology, personal development, society, and work, with the goal of making complex research clear, accessible, and genuinely useful.

The aim isn’t to offer quick fixes or simplistic answers. Human behaviour is rarely that straightforward. Instead, each article encourages thoughtful reflection, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

About the Author

I’m the founder and writer behind The Rational Life.

I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology with Counselling and a Master’s degree in Organisational Psychology. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in psychological theory, research methods, and the science of human behaviour.

I have spent years thinking about why people think, feel, and behave the way they do. That curiosity does not switch off; it shapes how I read, observe, what I notice, and ultimately what I choose to write about.

This blog grew out from a simple desire: to explore the questions that sit quietly beneath everyday life. What drives our health choices? How do our environment shape our wellbeing? And what does the evidence really tell us, beyond the headlines?

Through this publication, I combine academic research with clear, engaging writing to explore questions about the mind, relationships, work, and society. Every article is grounded in evidence but always with the person behind it in mind. I am aiming to remain practical and accessible to readers from all backgrounds.

My goal is simple: to make reliable psychological knowledge easier to understand, easier to apply, and more relevant to everyday life.

Whether you’re here to better understand yourself, improve your thinking, or explore the forces that shape human behaviour, I hope you will find ideas that challenge your perspective and encourage deeper reflection.

Welcome to The Rational Life.
